Steph Breitsman, Rabbinic Intern

Picture
Steph Breitsman (she/her) is a third-year rabbinical student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She is a Jew-by-choice, a spiritual seeker, and an artist. Raised in a secular family of Christian origins, she unexpectedly found her home in the American Jewish community when she befriended her college's Hillel president in the campus garden. She is passionate about Torah, ritual, and prayer and experimenting with ways to make them meaningful in our daily lives. She is currently exploring the intersection of creative practice, spirituality, and Judaism through her printmaking. Prior to starting at RRC, Steph worked for three years with Americans for Peace Now, an American, Jewish nonprofit advocating for the end of the Israeli occupation and for a two-state solution. She also received her Master's degree in Middle East Studies from the George Washington University.

Nora Woods, Interfaith advisor

Nora is a sixth year rabbinical student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She received her B.A., as a religion major, from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Before rabbinical school Nora managed a farm in Newtown, PA, was an Adamah Fellow at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, and worked as an outdoor educator with the TEVA Learning Alliance. She loves studying Torah, making Talmud accessible, and adapting Jewish tradition to contemporary reality. She is a fan of sloths, cooking, music, comedy, and art.
